It’s responsible for protecting you from both physical and environmental harm, which means that it can start to show signs of its hard work sooner than we’d like it to. What Is IPL “Intense Pulsed Light”?

Intense pulsed light technology, or IPL, powerfully addresses a wide variety of skin issues. It’s a non-invasive way to help create smoother, clearer, and brighter-looking skin right away, and with long-lasting results. With IPL, you can effectively remove years of skin damage and improve color, tone, and texture with simple, relaxing treatments.

How Does IPL Work?

IPL treatments operate using photothermolysis, delivering bursts of light energy that are capable of treating skin issues that range from sun damage, rosacea, age spots, and uneven skin texture, without further damaging the top layer of skin. IPL safely delivers 3x more energy through these fast repetitions of light.

It is so effective that most patients report a difference in their skin after just 1-3 sessions. Our Thousand Oaks clients love it and continue to recommend it because of its versatility with both cosmetic and therapeutic results. It is also a non-invasive and more affordable alternative to surgery.

IPL can help you improve the appearance of your skin almost anywhere on your body, including the delicate skin of your face, neck, chest, arms, and hands.

How?

What Are the Benefits of IPL Photo Light Therapy?

IPL can help treat a variety of skin imperfections including the following:

Our laser technology can deliver energy deep into the dermis, which helps to minimize wrinkle depth in just one treatment. Unlike expensive serums and creams that claim to work, the results of IPL deliver the results you’re after.

The laser light is strong enough to kill the hair follicle, which destroys its ability to procedure undesirable body hair. Unlike shaving and waxing, the results of laser hair removal are permanent.

When used on stretch marks, the laser helps improve their appearance by activating the body’s natural production of new collagen, which boosts the skin’s resilience and structure.

The brief pulses of laser light break down scar tissue and encourage your skin to produce new, healthy tissue.

The gentle laser energy stimulates your skin as deep as the dermis, which results in healthier and younger-looking skin.

Lighten your freckles, sunspots, age spots, and rosacea to help even out your skin tone. Seal broken capillaries while also removing troublesome blemishes.

Laser light targets and constricts the blood vessels that cause unsightly veins, making them appear less prominent on the skin’s surface.

Your Perfect Trio

Aesthetically Yours offers a customizable treatment that targets multiple skin imperfections in one succession. They’ve coined this plan “Your Perfect Trio” in reference to the combination of three of the most refining and skin-purifying non-invasive skin procedures, including IPL, TriFractional RF Microneedling, RF Microneedling. Each of these treatments will target a specific skin concern from unwanted vascular lesions and uneven skin texture to create a balanced, even complexion. Here’s a quick breakdown of each treatment:

IPL Photofacial Treatments

Intense pulsed light technology, or IPL, creates smoother, clearer, and brighter-looking skin using the power of photothermolysis. Light is delivered in bursts, attacking issues such as sun damage, rosacea, age spots, and skin texture. This technology is powerful enough to destroy unwanted skin imperfections without damaging the surrounding healthy skin cells.

Trifractional RF Microneedling

Our TriFractional skin resurfacing treatment takes traditional microneedling treatments to the next level by adding radiofrequency energy (RF) to selected areas of the skin’s epidermal tissue through micro-electrode pins. These frequencies create pinpoint, superficial micro-wounds that trigger the body to initiate healing proteins in the affected area. These micro-wounds will shed through a short recovery period, resulting in new, healthy skin tissue with improved texture, tone, and vibrancy. In addition, the fractional manner in which the RF energy is delivered leads to a faster skin rejuvenation process and more effective results.

RF Microneedling

RF Microneeding delivers RF energy through a bundle of microneedles into the deeper tissues of the skin. With the additional power of RF technology, this treatment triggers faster cell turnover, resulting in noticeable skin tightening, scar reduction, and resolved pigmentation issues than traditional microneedling treatments.

What Can I Expect During Treatment?

As with all the treatments we provide at Aesthetically Yours, we will do everything possible to ensure your safety and comfort during your treatment.

First, the treatment area will be thoroughly cleansed, and a cool gel will be applied to your skin. You’ll also be given protective eyewear during your session to protect your eyes from the intense light. Other than a topical anesthetic, additional pain management isn’t necessary as the laser light is incredibly gentle. Most patients report that each pulse of the laser feels like a mild pinch or sting against their skin. The length of your session all depends on the size of the targeted area you with to have treated, though an average IPL treatment takes anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes.

When your procedure is over, you may be provided with a cold compress for several minutes if you wish to lessen any discomfort, although patients often refuse this part of the treatment as their pain is minimal. Moisturizer and sunscreen are the final steps to your treatment to help moisturize and protect your skin.

Who Is a Good Candidate For IPL in Thousand Oaks, CA?

IPL is ideal for women and men who want to fade their hyperpigmentation, smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, repair their skin from past scarring and acne, and improve the overall texture of their skin without undergoing surgery. IPL is excellent for allowing us to improve the appearance of skin flaws, including:

People with naturally dark or tanned skin are not always good candidates for IPL. This is because there’s a risk that the treatment could change the skin pigment. Additionally, anyone taking Accutane should not have an IPL treatment until at least six months after they stop using the drug.

What To Expect After Your IPL Treatment

With little skin damage involved, IPL recovery time is short. Immediately after your IPL treatment, your skin may feel warm. Any redness is completely normal and should subside after a few hours. We will send you home with a thorough post-procedure care instruction sheet to ensure that you have the best results possible.

Redness may persist depending on your skin type and often dissipates after a few hours. In rare cases, redness or dark spots can take a few weeks to fade. Our acne patients report longer recovery times, but these patients are the ones who are the most rewarded by the power of IPL and its ability to improve uneven skin tone and texture.
