What to Expect From a SmoothGlo Treatment

First, our certified skin expert will assess your skin type and determine the intensity and depth of your concern. Then, they’ll create a personalized treatment plan to ensure the best results possible.

By request, we will provide a topical numbing cream to help prevent any discomfort. The first treatment will be IPL. After cleansing your skin, your provider will apply a gel to transmit the light and keep you cool throughout the experience. Your skin expert will then glide the laser handpiece over the targeted area. You may hear clicking as the laser targets the hyperpigmentation spots in your skin, breaking apart the melanin for your body to absorb. After the IPL phase, the provider will gently cleanse the treatment area with soap and water and dry it thoroughly.

The next step in the treatment is RF microneedling. Your skin expert will use a disposable tip with ultra-thin electrodes and use them to create tiny wounds. These microscopic injuries act as channels for the radiofrequency energy and beneficial serum to reach deep within the skin’s layers where the damage is the worst. What to Expect After a SmoothGlo Treatment

Your skin will feel warm for a few hours afterward. You may experience redness and mild swelling for up to four days. You can also expect minor scabbing, which will naturally heal and shed a week or two later. To avoid scarring, do not scratch or pick at these scabs, and keep your skin moisturized. Your overall skin texture may feel dry and scratchy, but these typical side effects are no cause for concern and will resolve on their own after a week.

Please avoid sun exposure for at least a week after your treatment and discontinue the use of harsh chemicals like retinol. We recommend using gentle, non-abrasive cleansers, followed by a rich moisturizer.
